ABOUT

Ryan Jones is a pianist and keyboardist from Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He attributes his diverse tastes in music to his upbringing in the beautiful countryside of southwestern Kentucky. Being a musically rich area, Jones was introduced to a wide array of genres from Bluegrass to the Allman Brothers. You could find Ryan performing in the area at a very early age.

In 2018, Jones moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, as a Master Degree candidate at the world renown University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music (CCM). Noted for his ability to play a wide variety of styles, Ryan quickly became a mainstay in the professional music scene. He could be found playing with many of the most respected groups and musicians in the Greater Cincinnati Area.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Jones has performed alongside world renowned musicians such as: John Schneider, Steve Amerson, Laurie Gayle Stephenson, Steve Lippia, Jimmy Walker, John Fedchock, Vince DiMartino, Andrew Carney, Chris Vadala, Tia Fuller, Christian Tamburr, and many more.

In the summer of 2019, Ryan received the opportunity to participate in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Residency in São Paulo, Brazil with the CCM Jazz Orchestra. While in Brazil, the group performed approximately fourteen concerts in their seven-day residency. These concerts were put on by the Social Service of Commerce (SESC) non-profit organization. This is a private organization in Brazil that makes education, health, and cultural and recreational programs available to workers in the commerce. For two of these concerts the group opened for the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. On another occasion, the group was fortunate enough to get to perform with Wynton Marsalis in a concert hosted by the U.S. Consulate at the Blue Note in São Paulo.

As an arranger, Ryan was approached in 2017 by the president of the Kentucky Blues Society and asked to arrange and perform several Ragtime pieces by Ernest Hogan. Jones performed these arrangements in concert at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC). In attendance was the great Sam Bush, widely recognized as the creator of Progressive Bluegrass. The concert was a celebration of both Hogan and Bush who are natives of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Most recently, as of June of 2022, Ryan and his wife have moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, in order for him to pursue a career as a studio musician. Now you can find him performing regularly in downtown Nashville at Gannon’s restaurant and at a number of other venues across the region. He is also working with various artists and producers as a session keyboardist.

Jones is happily married to his wife of 8 years, Kristen.
